==Ship of the line reports==

--USS Arizona--
After the destruction of the USS Avalon at the hands of some Rogue Jem'Hadar, the crew was reassigned throughout Starfleet, or some took time off to recover from the ordeal. However the old crew suddenly themselves drawn to the resort planet of Khirron Prime, where they were beamed off-planet and onto their new home, the USS Arizona.

Although obviously annoyed at being whisked away in the middle of the night, the crew settled quickly and were soon off on their first mission. Detecting a rogue planetoid at the extreme edge of long- range sensors, it appeared to be travelling greater than warp 9. With all the crew interested, the Arizona set course and soon reached the planetoid. An away team was assembled, little knowing that the planet was riddled with traps. Despite their best efforts, the away team was then split into three, with crewmembers being trapped on the surface and underground.

Discoveries were soon made, strange glyphs on the walls, a stone monolith of some kind, and voices seeming to emanate from inanimate objects. Contact with the Arizona became impossible, as the planets defences went into full action. One member of the away team vanished before the horrified eyes of his teammates, and the search was on. It was soon discovered that the entire planet was some kind of telepathic holo-grid, the traps and dangers presented to the Arizona crew, themselves drawn from the minds of those trapped on the planet. A power source was soon discovered and deactivated, releasing not only the trapped Arizona crew, but also that which had been held captive for millennia, a great Evil imprisoned on the planet by those who had sought to protect all life.

--USS Bismarck--
+++USS Bismarck, Executive officers log. Supplemental.+++
The USS Bismarck, located in the Gamma Quadrant on the other side of the Bajoran Wormhole, has had it's long awaited shore leave at our base "Farside" cut short before it really could begin, and is now dashing off on a mercy mission to pick up the survivors of the USS Perth. We are just beginning this new mission.

We have a murder mystery on our hands with our ex-Chief Science officer having been done away with in most suspicious circumstances (Stabbed with a sword bearing a molecular disruptive poison).

Our Strategic Operations Officer, Marvin Tee (Currently under investigation on a number of grounds for such matters as selling the USS Bismarck in a card game) has taken our CSO's demise especially hard and is on to the case along with the rest of our investigative officers.

At the same time, the father of our XO (Senior Vice President of Cybercom Consolidated Industries) has come aboard with an unusual team. A Cybercom agent was last known to be on the USS Perth, who's fate we will be investigating.
+++ End Log +++

--USS Cambrian--
After leaving Space Dock, to escort 5 Federation medical vessels and Ambassador Felaros to Romulan Space, an act of sabotage has occurred as well as a suspected murder. The sabotage occurred on one of the EPS conduits on deck 8. The
explosion of the relay caused massive internal damage such as power failures, deflector array damage, and environmental control malfunctions. The crew first suspected the accused Tal Shiar Agent, but he was found dead in his quarters before being about to be questioned. Days later after entering Romulan Territory, we have been stopped to be inspected by a Warbird which accused us of scanning their region of space and being off course. The inspections are yet to be finished.

Manifest additions/removals:
Ensign T'Raina t'Shiarrael, Security officer

--USS Casey--
The USS Casey has returned from their latest mission and docked at Starbase 11. The last mission saw the return of the Casey's former captain Nicholai Stolichnaya. Though Stolichnaya was considered a rebel for leaving Starfleet, he more than exonerated himself by giving his life to save the current crew - most notably the senior officers of the Casey.

While on the Starbase, Commander Northcott and Major Vandergrift seem to be in the early stages of an intimate relationship. Ensign Blake and Ensign Selaan, Vulcan security officer, are discovered to be long- time friends and reacquaint themselves. Maddak and Garmon are involved in a bar fight and are restricted to quarters. The funeral for Captain Stolichnaya takes place and is attended by the whole crew. The new CE Suron is making improvements to the computer systems. While making repairs on the Holodeck with Suron, Ensign Jon Bishop, ACE, is killed by a power surge. An investigation begins as to the cause.

The crew of the Casey is now on shore leave.

The new arrivals to the Casey were:
1st Lieutenant Mark Brandel, Assistant Platoon Commander
Ensign Darius Blake, Intelligence officer
Ensign Sebastian Conde, Assistant Conn - later assigned to Ops
Ensign Keyan Farlander, Deputy Chief of Security
Crewman Torven Rosh, Master at Arms.

After the Casey's last mission, the following promotions were handed out:
Lieutenant Commander Darielle Northcott, CMO & Acting XO promoted to full Commander and permanent XO.
Major Thomas Vandergrift, Platoon Commander appointed 2nd Officer and awarded Star of Starfleet.
Ensign Suron, Ops promoted to Lieutenant(jg) and appointed Chief Engineer.
Ensign David Patterson, Medical Officer promoted to Lieutenant(jg) and appointed Acting CMO.
Ensign Jon Champion, Diplomat promoted to Lieutenant(jg) and appointed Chief Diplomatic Officer.
Lance Corporal Kevin Ryback, Marine promoted to Corporal. PVC Ben Corbin, Marine promoted to Lance Corporal.
Various Commendations were handed out as well to Lt. Akran, LT.(jg) Gideon O'Neil and Ensign Maddak.

Of note, the Casey now has a new Department called Special Services.
This department will operate like any other and its purpose mostly involves intelligence gathering and diplomacy. Therefore Ambassador K'Rag, Chief Diplomat, was reinstated to full Commander and placed in charge of the department as the new Chief Intelligence officer. The department consists of Lt.(jg) Jon Champion, Ensign Blake and Lt.(jg) Ash Garmon, shuttle pilot.

---USS Edison--
Several of the Edison's crew have devised a method to free the cosmic string that has attached itself to the ship's warp core. The method involves the introduction of purified Uranium 235 causing a reaction to help re-crystallise the dilithium crystals. After managing to locate a quantity of the unpurified Uranium in a nearby field, Lt. jg Verona and Ens. Bren and Rimmer, set out on to obtain the necessary amount by mining the asteroids themselves. However the drilling process caused the asteroid to become unstable, and after the team's lucky escape, they found that the asteroids had become more unstable, and now could not be mined any further.

Fortunately Lt. Reiko discovered secondary source of uranium in the nearby system - the problem was that the planet was a home to a pre- warp society that has advanced to roughly early 20th century technology. An away team was sent to the planet to discreetly acquire the necessary uranium. The team members were: Cmdr. Drab, Ens. Jackson, Lt. jg. Verona, Ens. Falan, Lt. Jg. Pax, Ens. Faulkner, Ens. Bren and Crewman Solak. After making the necessary precaution measures we located the source of U235. It was located in some sort of facility. The radiation prevented us from making more detailed scans at that
time. We discovered that the uranium was used for missile warheads.

It was decided that beaming it would be too risky so we had to go in on foot. I adjusted our shield harmonics to prevent us from being detected. A major part of our team beamed down, and the operation commenced.

--USS Hyperion--
The Hyperion is currently on shore leave at Earth, however the time there has been anything but peaceful. The current ACMO, Lt. jg Hannah McManus has just discovered she is part Betazoid, and some of her latent psychic powers are beginning to surface. Unfortunately Admiral Kendrick, a known shadowy medical researcher has managed to "obtain" Lt. McManus to study this emerging phenomenon in her. The CMO, Lt. Thomas O'Halloran, a past colleague of Kendrick, has decided to
stand up against him because of his failure to do so previously where innocents died. Many of the crew of the Hyperion have also been drawn into this matter leading to Kendrick and McManus deferring the matter to the courts. Leading up to the courts many strange and nefarious acts have been committed resulting in intimidation, poisoning and death. Regardless of these obstacles some members of the crew have gone as far as to break Starfleet law by infiltrating a secured data house store on Utopia Planitia Mars just to obtain the evidence that would stop Kendrick. The day in court was a frustrating one for Kendrick due mainly to the Hyperion's crew and the JAG counsel. Later that evening, when proceedings were over and the crew relaxing, Kendrick kidnapped McManus, and escaped in a cloaked Romulan scout.

In the resulting investigation and the abortive attempts by Kendrick's henchman, CoOPS. Ens. Keth'ras Endilev in her attempts to cover her tracks by assaulting Sec. Officer Ens. Alexis Gordon and falsely accusing this Intel. Officer, the general location of finding Kendrick was determined and the Hyperion set off in pursuit. Kendrick's scout was located, McManus recovered and the scout destroyed in the neutral zone by the Romulans. Kendrick escaped revealing himself as a Romulan impostor replacing the original Kendrick many years ago.

Manifest additions/removals:
Ensign Ben Taylor, Tactical Officer.

--USS Lancelot--
Soon after the Christmas celebrations, the Lancelot was off on another mission. After receiving a plea from the Romulan Praetor, our C.O. Captain Turner, has decided to go on covert mission. The plea was to help stop a Tal Shiar group from literally exterminating the Gorn race by hurling a sun into their system. The Praetor claimed he is not in control of the plot and has asked Capt. Turner for help. After much debating with the senior crew, Capt. Turner decided to help the Praetor. Ever since then, the Lancelot has been running under cloak with our Federation Subspace transceiver switched off. Our goal is to destroy an age-old weapon called the Sun Hurler. A device that was constructed by a long dead alien race, which is designed to literally hurl a star into a targeted star system. Our first hurdle was in the shape of a Privateer space station. Loyal to no one, they would almost certainly betray our presence to the Romulans for a price. It was decided that we would have to `subdue`
this threat. This was accomplished by using anesthazine gas and a LOT of luck. With the Privateer threat removed, the Lancelot could covertly approach the weapon, located in the Corius system. The Sun Hurler weapon comprised of two parts. The first, a ring (protected by metaphasic shielding) circling the Corius star which generates the necessary gravimetric forces needed to push the star into its target trajectory so that it can be used as a massive, interstellar cannon ball. The second part is an underground command and control facility located on the planet Corius II. Attack plans were put forward by the Xo, Cmdr. Maximillian Kelly, Lt. Bron Mahon, and Lt. Paul Toddman, and the best course of action was devised. The plan comprised of one part to send a strike team to the surface of Corius II and attack the underground control facility using maps the Romulan Praetor had given us. In order to land on the planet undetected, the team travelled in torpedo casings. Masked as asteroids from a local asteroid belt, these torpedoes casing will carried one man each. While this is happening, the Lancelot will make an attack run on the ring around the Corius star, using all of her 24 Longbow class fighters as point cover.

Manifest removals/additions:
Ensign Cedara Nave, Security Officer
2nd Lt. Church, Marine Officer

--USS Pegasus--
USS Pegasus, after Launching from Antares Fleet Yards, relocated to Starbase 734 in orbit around Arcoiris 7. From there we received or first orders. We were to escort a super massive freighter, the USS Baffin Bay, and Ambassador Deltran to a formal treaty negotiation with the Tholian Assembly on Tholia. We departed with a few problems, mostly due to the fact that the ship was still new and we were still working the bugs out from the shakedown cruise to Starbase 734. We arrived at the rendezvous point and were then under escort of 6 Emerald class Tholian starships. As per instructions from the assembly, the Pegasus and Baffin

Bay was fitted with a sensor-dampening field so that they could only scan out to 200,000 kilometres. The Tholians are very xenophobic and did not want us to see anymore then what we needed for navigation.

2 days after travelling into Tholian space, 6 renegade Tholian ships attacked the convoy using an improved Web weapon that could near-instantly wrap a ship in a Tholian web. The renegades ensnared the Tholian escorts and collapsed the Webs, destroying the escorts. The Baffin Bay was also critically damaged. The Pegasus managed to destroy most of the escorts, but soon became ensnared in a web as well. Before the last escort was destroyed, 3 Tholians beamed aboard the Pegasus, all of them seriously wounded. At the same time, an away team was sent to the Baffin Bay, and found a group of Ferengi trying to sabotage the freighter to self-destruct. The team captured the Ferengi and escaped just before the ship exploded. The Renegades then locked tractor beam onto us and started pulling us back to Tholia impersonating the escorts. They plan on taking us back to Tholia and accusing us of firing on them. The peace process would be destroyed, as would the Pegasus. We are now trying to find a way to break the web, protect the Ambassador and the Tholian refugees, and reveal the renegades for who they really are.

Manifest Additions/Removals
New ship, so almost the entire crew is new :-)

--USS Saturn--
The two shuttles crews are still stuck on the ice planet. The crew from the Platte, had managed to spot the downed USS Rhine, and had decided to try and reach them. Finding some ice caves, the Platte crew entered them, and unfortunately set off a laser mine, killing Lyren(NPC). The team forged ahead but was ambushed by a group of Ferengi, and were set to work mining the dilithium present in the caves. Back at the shuttle, Lt. Matt Gershich started setting up some windmills to try and generate some extra power for the shuttle to try and get a communications channel operational. After a struggle with the Ferengi, the Platte crew tried to bluff them using some latinum. In the meantime, Lt. Gershich finished the windmills and set of
following the trails of the previous crewmembers. After finding the labyrinth of caves, the Lt. proceeded through them and managed to free the other crewmembers. In the meantime, the Saturn had received the message sent by Lt. Gerschich and had entered orbit around the planet. The now freed Platte team, headed on and managed to disable their Ferengi captors. After rendezvousing with Lt. Blair's team, and with the crew finally together we continued to the dampening field's control centre. After the field was disabled,

the facility was now visible to Saturn sensors. While moving to the beam-out site, the team encounter one of their captors and arrested him for further questioning. After few more conflicts with Ferengi patrols we got to the transportation site and were beamed up.

Manifest additions/removal:
Ensign Casey Narisse, Science Officer
Dr. Talor Dal, Medical Officer

--Starbase 98: Intel Team IV--
The USS Drake, commanded by Lieutenant Commander Daevan departed Risa en route to rendezvous with Lieutenant Colonel Brosus at Starbase 132. Investigations unveiled the activities of a privateer organization operating to ensure the construction of a mutagenic device. Whether the operation is conducted to acquire such on object for themselves is unknown, either way the operation must cease.

The team on Starbase 132 uncovered deleted computer logs to state the theft of the gel by an unknown female, whom departed the station on a heavily armed vessel en route to Ital IV, in the Sincordian system.

Conclusions devised that the rogue group were currently en route to Ital IV with the goal of having a qualified expert complete the construction of the object. To that end, whilst on the Risan surface it was discovered that the privateers had abducted Doctor Lars Dona for the purpose of completing such. Intelligence Team IV are in pursuit upon the Defiant Class, USS Drake.

The USS Drake arrived at the destination of Ital IV whereupon; the re-construction and alteration of external features of various members at the expertise of Doctor Patterson progressed to ensure the successful infiltration onto the Sincordian homeworld. The insertion, undetected, was completed satisfactorily as the USS Drake, occupied by Lieutenant Colonel Brosus, Lieutenant Commander Daevan, 2nd Lieutenant Harper, Ensign Patterson and Ensign Ryan progressed to Sincordia in search of the mutagenic gel. The infiltration team on Ital IV, led by Ensign von de Leur, were to locate Doctor Lars Dona and any relevant data in relation to their assignments. The team (except Ens. Ryan who stayed on the USS Drake) lead by Lt. Col
Brosus, landed on Sincordia and tried to locate evidence of the mutagenic device. While this was happening, Ens. Ryan finished a computer analysis of data on subspace messages from the Starbase. Unfortunately these implicated Lt. Dox (the Starbase's CoS) in the theft of the device. Following procedure Ens. Ryan set up a secured channel to communicate with the team and the surface, and ceased all outside comm.-channels. The investigation continues.

Manifest additions/removals:
Ensign Douglas Masters, Engineering Specialist
Ensign Eric Mitchell, Generalist
Ensign L.S. Von Leur, Infiltration Specialist
2nd Lt. Jake Harper, Pilot (removed)

--Starbase Tango: Fleet Academy--
Bral Rocett sets out with Gilla Dupree and some other SBT Cadets on a mission to find her father.

Upon reaching the planet "Hartland" Mr. Rocett's "civilian" mission makes progress in tracking down Ms. Dupree's father. Mr. Rocett's team is still not been able to find Ms. Dupree's father, but they discovered some additional clues for where to go.

SBT is put on Red Alert after a strong stellar wind blows a Galaxy Class starship into the spacedock while it was trying to dock. As Engineers were trying to repair the damage, they discovered organisms attached to the hull of the base that were slowly feeding off the base's energy. All attempts to remove the organisms attached to the hull fail with the exception of direct hand-to-hand combat, which proves equally dangerous, as the creatures are also able to absorb bio-energy. Finally a plan was put in action to launch the USS Reuben, an Excelsior Class vessel due to be decommissioned. Shortly after which all the power on SBT would be shut down. The creatures would attach to the Reuben that would then depart the system at maximum warp. Everyone on SBT was evacuated to the surface of Eta Tauri II, and a small emergency colony was established. When the danger has passed, teams return to SBT to begin repairs.

While working on an investigation Cadet Pace is abducted by members of the Orion Syndicate. He is then "brainwashed" and released to infiltrate Star Fleet. Crewman Rosh who was working on the investigation with Pace is rescued before the Syndicate picks him up as well. Cadet Pace is caught and taken to Sickbay where the Medical Staff remove several of the Orion implants. Tribbles once again emerge briefly as a problem. Pace recovers, and a plan is set in motion to catch the Orions by sending Pace out in a Captured freighter.

Intelligence teams plan to covertly infiltrate Ambassador T'Peu's ship to get information on his real identity. Commodore Mace, LCDR Envrex and LCDR Coonradt along with security teams arrive just in time to prevent them from proceeding. The JAG draws up formal charges on the main organizers of the infiltration plan. Commodore Mace appoints LCDR Envrex to direct the trial of the infiltration team. He selects other senior officers to also serve on the panel, and brings in 2 officers to serve as Prosecutor and Defence.

An old friend of LCDR Warner's arrives with a new Runabout design needing testing. A team is organized and sets out for the VaHan nebula where the tests will take place.

Promotions/Position changes:
CDR Mrascu, CDR Spade, CDR Sporak and LCDR Coonradt are re-assigned by Star Fleet.
CDR Morath is re-assigned as 2nd officer
Lt Jg. Ntal is re-assigned as CSO
Ensign Kesi is promoted to Lt Jg and becomes CMO.

==Player interviews==
And now for something completely different! This month, the Newsletter team has interviewed 2 of our Fleets players. This
month's interviewees are Commodore Steven Mace, and Lt.jg William Lloyd. Well that's enough chatting from me. Here are the interviews (if you have an comments on the interviews, please drop us a line at tfpib_news@hotmail.com)

"First the interview with Comm. Mace"

-How long have you been in TF?-

I joined in Dec. 1997, graduating TFA in January of the following year. So I've been a member of TF for just over 3 years.

-Have there been any notable changes since your arrival? -

Many! I've seen the fleet grow, then shrink and now grow once again! One of the best changes I've seen has been the re-
introduction of the Post of the Month. It's an excellent method of recognition for great players. An expansion of the departments I also see as a positive resource for players to find information that can help everyone play. I suppose one of the most "notable" changes was transforming the training method for new players to "sim based" instead of the e-mail based lessons we had previously. This lets CO's and anyone else see how new players are doing in an actual sim- setting before they are placed on a ship.

-Where do you foresee TF heading?-

At our present level of growth, I expect there would be several more sims added before the end of the year. We already have a fairly strong fleet, with a very good reputation in the PBEM community. Our websites have a high standard of excellence, which helps us more than you may expect. One thing we truly need is for present excellent players to step forward and take Command School so we have XO's and CO "in waiting" for new sims when needed.

-Why did you join TF? -

I got interested in TF mainly because I saw it as a fairly small fleet where there is a good chance to get to know a lot of people. I made quite a few 'cyber friends' from countries around the world! (Germany, Norway, England, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Israel and of course Canada and the US).

My history in the fleet.
I started out as the first Diplomatic Officer in TF, joining the USS Pegasus-B. But I enjoyed my time in the Academy so much, that I became an instructor within 6 months after being placed. From there I proposed the Diplomatic Corps, and compiled much of the information presently included for the department. I branched out with a 2nd character on the IKC Sang (Klingon ship - now destroyed), then with a 3rd when the Cambrian was commissioned. My present character (Steven Mace) came along as I took Command School and became the XO of the Dauntless, later becoming the CO of Starbase Tango - the first SB in the fleet. I really never thought I'd get the opportunity to be Training Manager, but when the old one (my good friend Haakon Vinje) became busy in Real Life about 1 1/2 years ago, he offered me the chance and here I've been since.

Although my position is one of the busiest in the fleet, I really enjoy my work at TFA. Training new players is it's own reward, I often look over the POTM pages to see which of *MY* cadets have done well since graduation! I've actually got nearly all the Bios for the cadets that have graduated since my time as TFA Commandant. :-)

R. Adm. Kreg Asay
TF Training Manager
AKA Como. Steven Mace
TFA Commandant
CO SBTango

"And now Lt. jg William Lloyd..."

-How long have you been in TF and what positions, both in character and out-of-character, do you hold?-

Well the list is growing.. so I might as well start with the in game ones

My first was Ensign Zeralta Deral, CONN, on the USS Masada then I became an instructor on Starbase Tango with my second Trill character, Lt. Jg Jarock Ntal, now the CSO. Recently I've also started on Starbase 98, with Ens. Sam Ryan, the Science Specialist there.

Out of game my duties are as follows:
Lt. Jg Jarock Ntal, Director of Fleet Sciences,
Lt. jg William Lloyd, Editor of the TF Newsletter, and Director of TFPIB.

-Why did you choose to enrol in TF?-

I came across the site by chance via one of the search engines I think, and just got hooked. The main site looked very professional, and also it suited my views for a Star Trek environment. Before coming to the site, I had never considered even playing in a Star Trek RPG!

-The USS Masada, TF flagship, has a reputable name throughout TF, what attracted you to the vessel?-

When I applied for the Masada, I knew nothing of the status of the vessel, or of its high quality of writing, even now, I'm still
overwhelmed by the quality of posting of this great vessel. I believe I actually just applied because they had space for a CONN officer! However I have never regretted joining the "Mess" and I hope I can still be an asset to its crew for a while to come.

-You were recently appointed to the position of Director of the TF Press & Information Bureau in conjunction with Editor-in-Chief of the TF Newsletter, why did you pose you candidacy for such positions?-

I have always felt that TF has needed something for its members to find out more about what is going on each vessel, or a place to announce their plans or news to the rest of Fleet. I still wonder how some of my old Academy mates are doing or how many are left in the Fleet, so I have always wanted some form of Newsletter to be available. When I saw the position available, I jumped at the chance to try and make any impact on the way TF communicates internally.

-Any plans for the TF Newsletter?-

Firstly, I want to establish a regular service (hopefully with the help of many of the Directors and CO/XO's of the Fleet) that will tell members about the plotlines and developments of all areas of the Fleets ship/bureaus. Secondly, I would like to see a regular FAQ section for the CC, so that some of the lower ranks can find out what new ideas/implementations maybe introduced into TF in the near future. My main aim of the Newsletter as a whole is to keep all its members as up-to-date with Fleet business as possible.

-Are than any members within TF that have made some impact on why you enjoy the simming experience within TF so much?-

Most of the command crew of the Masada have had an influence on my writing and confidence in my own posting abilities. My friend and semi-mentor Lt. jg Travok Ntaren has helped me keep going through the annoying writer's block times, and Lt. Cmdr C.J. Datz (or any other of his many names) has been a rock in helping me organise my out-of- game duties, which I enjoy so much. Also Comm. Steven Mace in having faith in probably the freshest instructor in TF those few months back. Being an instructor is a great privilege, and I'm glad I took the chance to become one.

-What changes, if any, should you like to see occurring within the TF structure?-

I would like to see something that ensures an increased communication between the "little people" and the Command/Executive
Councils so that everybody know what ideas are being put forward, and can submit ideas themselves. Other than that I think TF is run quite efficiently considering the logistics of running the Fleet!!

-Some time ago you were appointed as an Academy Instructor, for what reason did you accept such a position and what is so special about it that ensures your continuous contribution?-

Well I was one of the original cadets that was aboard the "Cadet's cruise" that eventually spawned the TF Academy Sim. I really enjoyed that experience, learning with other people of different writing styles, and abilities. This spurred me on to try and pass on my skills to the new cadets entering the Fleet. It is a great pleasure seeing a new player, learn to improve their posts then gain a place in the Fleet to continue using the skills they learned from you and your advice. It is an honour when one of your Cadets receives the TF Academy commendation or even the privileged Post of the Month. This is what makes all the stresses worthwhile.

-Any other thoughts?-

Just to say thanks to everyone who has helped me, advised me or encouraged me over the last year. I can't believe it's gone
that quickly, I just hope I can do the same to all the people I meet in TF as well.

==Corps/Bureaus Reports==

Chief of Fleet Operations: Vice-Admiral Steven Marriott
Assistant Chief of Fleet Operations-Staff: Lieutenant-Commander Damon Envrex

There are a number of changes slowly taking place around the fleet that are a direct result of the Corps and Bureaus (C&B), most notably at the moment is the alteration to the enlisted transfer system. This change is not its self the main cause for change, but the number of webpages dotted around the fleet pages that in turn must be updated and altered to fit this new system.

Currently the standard names page is been revamped to include the changes, as are any C&B pages that are relevant. However you can see the changes already in place at the Enlisted Bureau site, and the Fleet Constitution.

Another addition to the Standard Names page will be the introduction of the Intel Team Standard Names, so if your interested, keep an eye out. For those who are interested in possible future additions or changes that are on the list of suggestions I'm considering, they are:

A system for the Marine simulations
A Fighter Wing Corps, which would include all Pilots regardless of task.
Expansion of the Commendations, including more related awards for the
Academy, and possible awards for web work rather than just written work.

Development of the Standard Names page, split into Starships, Starbases, and other relevant sections, i.e. Intel teams. Lastly I'd like to thank all the staff at the new Newsletter for all their hard work in re introducing this newsletter. I would also like to thank Lieutenant-Commander Damon Envrex, who has worked closely with the Newsletter, providing guidance and help in the initial start up.

That is, the journal will record the medical post of the month from within the fleet, the discovery of new medical information, medical plots etc. Those who contribute by articles or otherwise, as suggested at the discretion of the Corps Director, will receive an acknowledged certificate an award. At this time, the TF Medical Corps is in search for a suitable title for the journal and thus certificate. Those with suggestions may pose them to the TF Medical Corps Director, Lieutenant Commander Megan Devereux at tfawards@hotmail.com. Suggestions thus far include that of the Carrington Journal and Carrington Certificate/Award as stated in DS9

Corp/Bureau: Science Corps
Director: Lt. jg Jarock Ntal
Assistant Director: Lt. Bron Mahon

Information relevant to the Science Corps: The Science Corps pages have been down for several months for a major refit and it is hoped that the pages will be operational again within the next couple of months. However during this downtime, the staff has been compiling a lot of new information as well as updating the page format. When the new pages are released, we are going to include new information on Physics, Temporal Mechanics, Chemistry, and Exo-Biology as well as updating the sections and databases on Federation Scientists, Particles, and Measurements.

News: With the recent departure of Ens. Jason Galloway, I have appointed Lt. Bron Mahon as the new Assistant, and he has taken over as the webmaster also. As the director, I am still available for any help or questions regarding Science matters while the pages are down, and I can be contacted at tangofleetlarry@hotmail.com

Corp/Bureau: Marine Corps
Director: Major-General Havelock Vetinari
Assistant Director: Lieutenant-Colonel Ki'Ros

Information relevant to the Marine Corps: The recent changes in the Enlisted transfer and comparison to Officer ranks has prompted the need for a review of the Marine Corps site. Currently some of the data is inaccurate and must be corrected to ensure that players reading these pages are able to obtain the most accurate information as possible. Unfortunately other work has prevented this update taking place at present, but plans are in progress to ensure this does occur. Please keep an eye out for the new changes.

Corps/Bureau: Bureau for Enlisted Affairs
Director: MCPO Taenos "Qaz" Qhazul
Deputy Director: SgtMaj Logan Wolfe (SFMC)

Information relevant to the Corps/Bureau: A major long-term project has begun on the BEA website. Detailed information on rating (position) duties will be linked to the appropriate rating on the "Rates and Ratings" page. Currently, a very thorough discussion on the responsibilities of the Quartermaster is available. Officers in the CONN department would no doubt find much of this data useful too. A change to the role of Warrant Officers and the possibility of taking on commissioned officer positions has been included, although still technically pending before the Command Council.

Any other business: The BEA welcomes two NCO instructors to Starbase Tango: Dr. Andon Kaannn, and GM1 Tiberius Romano.

Corp/Bureau: Tango Fleet Starship Design and Development Bureau
Director: Commodore Mike Rawlins

TFSDDB's website work is coming very slowly, as I'm probably trying to do too many things at once. I would step down, but I'll be done with college in two months and will have much more time to work on things then.

Though the site is non-operational yet, I have big plans for it. One of the things I'm most excited about is that I will be able to
provide relatively good ORIGINAL images for use in the fleet's webpages. I have 3D models for most of the fleet's ship classes, and I should have all of them soon. I also intend to have a relatively thorough database of CANON information about major ship classes, along with speculative information and unconfirmed but logical assumptions.

Different aspects of the site will come online at different times. Watch the Tango Fleet page for news, as the site will be linked from there as soon as at least one major part of it is ready to go online.

Fleet Poll/Survey

Well it's been put to me that this little publication should possibly get a bit of a better name (rather than the Newsletter!). So I
thought I'd put it out to the Fleet… if you have any ideas as to what we can call this monthly e-letter of ours then send them to
tfpib_news@hotmail.com. Then next month I'll publish the three best names (picked by the Newsletter team), and then it will go to a vote by you lot! So get your thinking headgear on and you could name a bit of TF!

Suggestions so far:

Acknowledgements
I, and all the Newsletter team would like to thanks all the people who've helped launch this little publication again. Many thanks to the people who reports to the Intelligence bureau, from which I've compiled the Ship of the line stories from, and to all the Corps & Bureau personnel who taken time to update us on how things are working in the great Fleet machine! Also many thanks to the Executive Council who voted for the re-launch of the Newsletter. On a personal note I'd like to thank Jason Gallaway, a former member of TF and a great friend, who worked on the site and some of the graphics incorporated there. Thanks also to Cian Beniot, without his help, I'd be swamped under a mass of lost reports, thanks for helping to get this up and running
