SHP-OF-THE-LINE REPORTS
=======================

VESSEL: USS OCTAVIAN
DIVISION: I
COMMANDING OFFICER: COMMODORE TOROCA
EXECUTIVE OFFICER: CAPTAIN PAUL O'REILLY

The Octavian's crew is still in somewhat of a limbo. They're on shoreleave at Avalon Prime, a huge battle station in the Kirin star system. They'll be reassigned to a new ship soon. The court martial of Rear Admiral Toroca is nearly finished. (End result will be a reduction in rank to Commodore) The proceedings were interrupted when Toroca abruptly left the courtroom. He had an instinctive feeling that he should be in sickbay, and when he got there, he found his wife alive, if not entirely well. She had been killed on the same mission that destroyed the Octavian, but medical scans determined that while her body was in stasis, the Borg nanites left over from the time she'd been partially assimilated had repaired the damage to her body. This also marks the return of the player behind the character. The Octavian's crew will soon be aboard a new vessel, and starting in the middle of the next month, they'll be joining the USS Arizona for a joint mission.

VESSEL/SIMULATION: INTELLIGENCE TEAM IV - STARBASE 98
DIVISION: I
COMMANDING OFFICER: COLONEL BROSUS
EXECUTIVE OFFICER: LT COMMANDER MAXIMILLIAN DAEVAN

Intelligence Team IV depart SB98 via the Ajax en route to their assignment destination. Harper, the newly promoted Marine Captain, overtly, as expected, offers friendly jibes whilst piloting. The first initialization of the vessel's cloaking device seems to operate within expected parameters, thus permitting the vessel to glide through the sector of space, virtually unnoticed. However a minor system failure within the device warrants the cloak to be terminated as measures are undertaken to repair it.

In the area considered as a wardroom, Lieutenant Mitchell, Doctor Paterson and Lieutenant Caine discuss developing a holodeck scenario that could be utilized by the entire team upon return to SB98. The concept would be that of an early Federation simulation based upon a Constitution Class vessel. With the initial indication that the project could not be completed without the expertise of the Engineering Specialist, Daevan announces that bribery is the key. With the Ajax currently en route to its navigational destination, events remain active inbound. The decision of Marie Captain Harper to enlighten the crew with Klingon opera results in a slight disaster as the vessel's audio controls malfunction ensuring that the sound vibrates throughout the interior. The sheer volume counters any attempts to conduct regular communication.

Daevan is displeased with event and its surrounding consequences. A brief interaction ensues with Lieutenant Mitchell attempting to lighten the atmosphere, but to no avail. Commander Daevan analyzes the social discussion, in order to deliver a somewhat disguised rebuke. With the bridge crew continuing with their duties, Daevan rendezvous with Lieutenant von de Leur in the wardroom, whereupon they commence in discussion, a surprising activity for the pair.

Meanwhile the Ajax arrives.

The assignment parameters, or what could reasonably be determined as errand parameters, were not, by the crew complement, considered to be strenuous or indeed so essential that the requirement existed for the complete deployment of a specialist detachment force such as Intelligence Team IV. As with the pre-defined chain of command, a fundamental structure at the very core of an organization such as StarFleet, the successful completion of instructions, in many respects, from senior officials, was the primary focus.

Intelligence Team IV personnel were considered a contingent of proficient individuals who represented and thus embodied, collectively, the excellence of all operational spheres from within StarFleet. The current assignment, in consideration, was therefore, not a favorable delegation of resource usage. Albeit punishment for lack of competence in the previous assignment, it remained a questionable method.

In addition, prior to departure from Starbase 98, the issuing of promotions and commendations did not in actuality support a theory of punishment, but rather conveyed a sentiment of satisfaction. The request that members of the team be promoted from one of StarFleet's most decorated flag officers, Admiral Thomas, was abnormal, however an event that delivered no cause for concern. The reason governing the necessity for Intelligence Team IV's immediate deployment did not, at first instance, warrant suspicions.

With both Lieutenant Colonel Brosus and Lieutenant Commander inconspicuously perturbed with the events, ensured that the two command officers, although separated in thought, were attuned to a developing scenario. To merely express concern, without tangible data present, would position one in a most awkward state and that would be most … … illogical.

As Brosus analyzed and monitored the infrequent and inconsistent data emanating from SB98, Lieutenant Commander Daevan continued with the compilation of information pertaining to the internal infiltration of Starbase 98. Interviews conducted with those involved ensured that a productive report could be presented in order to further secure the base of operations. The particulars contained would deliver StarFleet with a technological method to further secure all installations throughout the Federation, with Starbase 98 the first to be the recipient of the upgrade.

Those not assigned to the away team participated in activities throughout the confined and dimly lit vessel, albeit duty related or recreational. An isolated and non-overt ambience remained, as completion of the mission, a non-glamorous, minor and monotonous assignment was the mutual want of the crew complement.

Having successfully upgraded the array with the necessary computer download, the away team, the "techno babble" specialists, returned to the Ajax in preparation for departure. Colonel Brosus continued to determine the cause for concern in a room that would be considered similar to that of a Ready Room. With Commander Daevan on command duty, instructions were delivered to initialize departure sequences with destination … … Starbase 98.

Upon entrance to the Tracos system, the cloaked B'Rel class Klingon vessel, Ajax, as is customary when an authorized vessel attains proximity capable of communications, proceeded to initiate transmissions in order to attain permission for docking sequences. However, to the surprise of those present each attempt to correspond went unacknowledged for unknown reasons. Having determined that the Starbase was capable of communication since information was being sent outbound, preliminary assessment of the scenario identified that there was a malfunction with the Ajax's communication array, although the fact that the Intelligence Team IV designated vessel, the defiant class USS Drake, was absent from the vicinity, was a peculiar incident, but not one where suspicion was warranted.

The correction of communications and the necessity to consider other reasons governing the event immediately became a priority, as all personnel present were assigned to individual spheres, albeit positions that each were not accustomed to, but positions that were crucial in order to formulate a tangible assumption. Unconfirmed suggestions detailed that the malfunction may be caused by the difference in technological structure of the Klingon vessel and the Federation installation.

Whilst the crew remained engulfed in their respective assignments, there existed a slight delay in addressing a beeping sequence emanating from the navigational console, that when monitored, subsequently identified a shuttlecraft, Federation by initial analysis, that had sustained heavy damage. Upon closer examination, the vessel comprised of three occupants who were scheduled to arrive on Starbase 98 three days previously as attachment officers that would participate in a training drill conducted by Intelligence Team IV. The similar communication malfunction that occurred with Starbase 98 was prominent when trying to initiate communications with the Federation vessel, a Danube class runabout by categorization.

With the necessity to cater for life, the three occupants were transported directly to the medical bay, whereupon, under security surveillance they would receive medical treatment if deemed needed prior to addressing the reasons governing their delay to SB98 and the why their vessel sustained damage. Thirty minutes later and with continued vigilance, Lieutenant Commander Daevan, instructed to question the individuals, uncovered that the guests were indeed that of Lieutenant Tozan Kar, Ensign Cassandra Strauser and the injured and comatose individual as Lieutenant Commander Sebastian DeVries.

In the Captain's Ready Room however, events were continuing on a wider scale. Upon consultation with StarFleet Command, via Admiral Helen Kent, it was identified that activities where occurring in the sector contrary to StarFleet's authorization or knowledge. At the core of such activities, inclusive of resource re-allocation and personnel deployment were those facilities in Tracos, namely Starbase 98 and McNicholson Base, controlled by Admiral Thomas and Brigadier Steven Curran respectively. Instructed to identify the reasons for such occurrences whereupon infiltration to McNicholson Base without disturbance to the general Tracos populous and Starbase 98 were the primary focus, Colonel Brosus deemed the necessity to conference with Commander Daevan.

DIVISION: I
COMMANDING OFFICER: COMMODORE STEVEN MACE
EXECUTIVE OFFICER: LIEUTENANT COMMANDER JOHN WARNER

The USS Retribute and a convoy of ships return from a mission in the Gamma quadrant. As it neared the wormhole that leads to DS9 hit a gravity well that destroyed most of the convoy and left the Retribute and another ship badly damaged. They where able to send out a distress call which was received by the Starbase Tango. The USS Faulkner under the command of Lieutenant Laure and Lieutenant Jenz Vre was sent out to rescue them. So far the rescue is going good until the gravity well expands and in dangers the rescue. So the Faulkner is moved back and sends out shuttles to rescue crew. Lieutenant's Laure and Vre take their own shuttles with crews out and leave the Faulkner under the command of Cadet Kurn. But the Gravity well expands to quickly and traps the Faulkner so now they have to save the ship also.

While Lieutenant Bottomley and Lieutenant Kesi while on Eta Tauri II to celebrate the birthday of Lieutenant Commander Warner's youngest child Mikayla, they are called to the hospital because a power plant blew up and the hospital need help with the casualties. They also sent in a few to cadets to help. After eight hours all the cases where handled and life at the hospital turn back to normal.

While Lieutenant Commander Warner and his family, Ashley Larue and Samantha Laure (Lieutenant Laure's family) And Hannah (Lieutenant Mashaki Kesi's Daughter) Are celebrating Mikayla's birthday on Eta Tauri II, Hannah wanders off and falls into a cave. Lieutenant Commander Warner calls the base for help in the search to find her. But their is some kind of damping field in the area that they are in so they have to search the old fashion way. Marine cadet Chester Funn locates Hannah; she has fallen down a hole. Hannah was rescued but also a skeleton of a race that once lived on this planet was discovered in the hole with her.

Commander Sporak and the Engineer cadets begin upgrades on the bases systems. When suddenly the base is hit with a serious of unexplained breakdowns and a orange juice virus. Lieutenant (junior grade) Matthew Cody arrives at the Academy and is assigned as the Executive Officer of the flight deck.

Lieutenant Kesi is under investigation for suspected involvement in the Orion Syndicate.

VESSEL: USS ARIZONA
DIVISION: II
COMMANDING OFFICER: CAPTAIN MICHAEL A. CROWLEY
EXECUTIVE OFFICER: COMMANDER JAXX

After a short leave on Starbase 432, the Arizona was soon on its way. It seems that several weeks ago a civilian freighter, the Draconis, departed the Romulan Neutral Zone with a sizable shipment of metals and minerals and Romulan Ale.

Informants within the Romulan Empire have since revealed suspicions that the ship's cargo manifest and flight plan are fraudulent. SFI now believes that the Draconis actually carries a cargo of contraband Romulan weapons and technology intended for distribution to non-aligned worlds within Federation borders, worlds not exactly sympathetic to the Federation.

Starfleet's network of informants and sensor grids watch for any sign of the Draconis, reporting any such sightings to the Arizona, which is hot on its tail.

So far, the Draconis has made every attempt to avoid detection. Most reports are from planets the freighter has visited, along with sketchy long range tracking of the ship's warp drive and impulse emissions.

With the Arizona's combination of speed and Stealth shielding, the race after the Draconis, visiting each of the freighters' known stops, searching for and confiscating any contraband that may have been left behind.

So far, the only things found have been a small Romulan transmitting device, and a Romulan corpse...

VESSEL: USS SATURN
DIVISION: II
COMMANDING OFFICER: CAPTAIN DERICK TERBRON
EXECUTIVE OFFICER: LIEUTENANT SYLVIA BLAIR

The away team on New Chile III was doing their best to stop the spread of the bacteria but with little or now success. The Pandora's box was opened and there was no way to close it again. O'Riley [Lieutenant (junior grade) Chief Medical Officer] was still furious about G'Pax [Lieutenant (junior grade) Chief Science Officer] for landing on the planet despite the quarantine.

Things took a turn to the worst - the bacteria adapted to the salt water and started spreading. By now they realized that they are infected too. Bacteria started it's work. Slowly but firmly. They had 30 hours tops to find a solution. Z'Ha'Dur started working on transporting them back to Saturn while the rest of the away team continued they search for a global solution.
G'Pax and Casey discovered that bacteria was genetically engineered to mass-produce oxygen and hydrogen from water - approximately 1000 molecules per second, 5000 maximum. That would be a total of 432000000 molecules per day. They duplicate within every hour. That means that from single entity within 24 hours there can be .. 9.4*10^10 new ones. That number in the next day can dissolve 4,06*10^19 molecules. The data shows that the original was very resistant, with life cycles of more then a year, replicating itself every week. Genetically different from the rest. Not to mention extremely rare. They accelerated its metabolism - new bacteria dies after 2 days. If it's not hibernating the bacteria could be used as a weapon of mass destruction. If released in enough quantities on chosen places over the planet it could completely destroy all life within months, or even weeks. Unfortunately, all solutions that the science team could find were temporary - just slowing down the process.

When they saw that nothing can be done all efforts were placed on getting the away team safely back. O'Riley and Z'Ha'Dur developed the procedure. They plan to use teleporter relaying and enhances bio filters for remove the bacteria from infected members. Unfortunately they had to be flesh freeze for the procedure to work. Certain survival risks were included. Nevertheless, process worked and all away team members were returned safely to USS Saturn.

Shore leave passed as usual. Crew changes, recreation and stuff like that. Casey was assigned to welcome Crewman Hosmer and Lieutenant Noark came onboard with a stile. But as always something has to go wrong. In this case - Matt [Lieutenant (junior grade), Engineer/Pilot] G'Pax and Frank (Ensign, Councilor) got trapped in holo deck 1 while ruining middle age elvin simulation made by Matt and G'Pax. It would seem that program still has a few bugs.

VESSEL: USS HYPERION
DIVISION: II
COMMANDING OFFICER: COMMANDER MICHAEL BRANDEL
EXECUTIVE OFFICER: TO BE DETERMINED

The USS Hyperion ended up going to SB 75 instead of to starbase Tango where the new recruits were waiting for the Hyperion. Captain Starr was assigned to an internal affairs investigation and Command of the Hyperion was given to Commander Brandel. When the Hyperion reached SB 75, Chief Medical Officer Thomas O'Halloran and Assistant Chief Medical Officer Hannah McManus got married. Because Captain Starr had left command of the Hyperion, Thomas had to get the Captain of the Starbase to perform the ceremony. Also Hannah and Thomas got news that the baby they were expecting was twins. After the wedding Thomas and Hannah went to Risa for the week while Hyperion sat in space dock for the week waiting for all the new crew to arrive. Just before Hannah and Thomas were to get back, Brandel receives new orders from SF that they were to go on a diplomatic mission to the C'Bon system where the C'Ban and C'bao have both asked to join the Federation.

The C'ban was an advanced race, nearing in technology equal to that of the Federation, who is offering a new shield technology which is superior to the existing one SF currently employs. They are a cunning, almost ruthless race whose ability to negotiate borders on seduction. They warn SF of the trickery the lesser race C'bao uses to get what it wants which is not the truth. The c'Bao, offer a mineral resource SF could utilize in the increased production of a relatively new grain, Pentatricicale, a more substantial offshoot of Quatrotricicale. The mineral acts as a fertilizer which aids the grain in being hardier and more resistant to disease. The mineral is a rare form of Gemenozite.

The problem is that the C'ban threaten to withdraw their offer and declare war if SF allows the c'Bao membership. It seems as if they use gemenozite in the production of the shield technology and often enslave the c'Bao. The c'Bao need protection from the C'ban and want membership in the federation. Both races have been trading technology with rogue traders over time and have each developed rudimentary pre-warp technologies. As a result, both are legitimate candidates for admission.

VESSEL: USS PEGASUS
DIVISION: II
COMMANDING OFFICER: CAPTAIN DRAKE COLLINS
EXECUTIVE OFFICER: LIEUTENANT COMMANDER HABIBA INCOSI

The crew began recovery operations when a dust storm came in and they had to retreat to the main camp. The storm lasted most of the night. In the morning they found that some of the Blue clouds had floated to the camp perimeter. When they attempted to scan the clouds they attacked the crew. The away team started to display paranoia or fearful hallucinations. Some to the point of insane behavior.

Meanwhile, the Chief Tactical Officer, in command of the Cousteau, with the help of the Cousteau away team, managed to push the possesing entity out of Maddox and into space. However the possesed Maddox had caused some damage to the Cousteau. They slowly began the return to the planet.

By this time the Chief Operations Officer, who had not been effected by the cloud's effects, found the source of the clouds on the farside of the planet. They were in a shuttle and flew over a massive area of crashed ships. The clouds were being generated from this area.

The Away team was quickly becoming more paranoid and the hallucinations were becoming more realistic.

Marshaan crashes the shuttle, and the crew finds a way to destroy the clouds using an antimatter bomb. The bomb does more damage then they thought, and the Cousteau has to dive into the atmosphere to get close enough to create a relay for the transporter beam to get the away team of the surface.

The Cousteau makes it out, the planet's atmosphere was ripped away, the clouds dissapate and the crew limps out of the nebula. Noark takes the Cousteau to rendezvous with a starbase and his Father.

Following a brief shoreleave...the USS Pegasus was sent to investigate the disappearence of the USS Sarcon. The ship was sent to a colony on the planet Senrab, which was with negotiations in Starfleet over rare medicines that the Senrabs had developed over centuries. The colony was a huge underground area filled with laborers ruled by the "Nobles" of the planet. Upon arrival at Senrab, it was found that the planet had been overtaken by Cardassian Rebels, called the "Ykceb". The Ykceb also had their eyes on the medicines, but for a different reason. They wanted to use them for biological warfare products. So, the Ykceb landed their vessel on the planet (for reasons unknown), and overtook the colony.

The USS Pegasus was quick to react. A covert away team beamed down to the surface, assessed damages and how dangerous the Ykceb were. They were too dangerous to toy with. So, in a solemn act to save the colony, the Away Team comprised of Lieutenant Warring, Lieutenant Deveraux, and Crewman Crowe, Ensign Khan, Lieutenant (junior grade) Brev Thom, Ensign Black, and nearly the whole Security staff (NPCs). Even though they ran into difficulties, they were successful in pushing back and subduing most of the Ykceb forces on the planet.

Meanwhile, on the USS Pegasus, their was strange energy and readings. Ensign Nyyssonen and Lieutenant (junior grade) Marshaan were shocked when suddenly the USS Sarcon appeared on the screen breifly, and then vanished. Further investigation found that the Cardassian ship was inoperable on the surface, and that the Ykceb had had enough time to transfer a stolen cloaking device that they used on their own ship to the Sarcon. The USS Sarcon could cloak! To everyone's relief though, it is a very weak cloak, and Lieutenant (junior grade) Hunter found an extra method for breaking the weak cloak.

The USS Sarcon has not yet decloaked again, but when it does, Lieutenant Commander Incosi has initially decided to try negotiations, and then fight only if absolutely necessary. The Ykceb are now on the USS Sarcon, as well. A second Away Team is now down on the colony-surface (on emergency call though), and are currently attending to the needs and finding the medicines.

VESSEL: USS CASEY
DIVISION: III
COMMANDING OFFICER: CAPTAIN SHAUNA MCNEIL
EXECUTIVE OFFICER: LIEUTENANT COMMANDER AMANDA PIKE

The Casey, towing the Ykiim to Tornanility, encounters another vessel. This one is carrying a pair of rather upset Ferengi, Daimon Olf and Accountant Mort, looking to recoup the losses incurred when the Ykiim, under the command of Skoz (npc), was attacked by pirates. They are taken on board the Casey so that differences can be settled. With the help of Chief Engineer Suron, now the new 2nd officer, a review of the contract between the Ferengi and Skoz's crew reveals the Ykiim would now become property of the Ferengi if the cargo was lost. Suron, with his quick, Vulcan mind, manages to find a loophole in the contract thereby allowing the Ykiim to remain in Skoz's ownership. According to the contract if the cargo is lost, then ownership of the Ykiim is bestowed to the Ferengi. Captain McNeil points out that the cargo isn't lost, as the Casey is working with the Nkaavi to recover it. The Ferengi reluctantly agree and accompany the Casey to Tornanility.

Meanwhile, the intelligence away team has left Tornanility in pursuit of the pirates and the stolen cargo and an abducted Sergeant Ryback. The team follow the pirate for hours. Lieutenant Blake ponders rescuing the marine but is unsure as the pirates are undoubtedly heading for their base of operations. If they rescue Ryback too soon, they will never discover the location of the pirate base as per mission specs. A spirited debate ensues as to whether or not to rescue Ryback right away. The decision is made for the group when then finally follow the pirate ship to their base of operations. They come up with a plan to rescue Ryback as, unbeknownst to them, he has been severely beaten during his capture.

Back on Tornanility, Captain McNeil asks the head administrator Lepaz (npc) is she has seen the away team. She lies saying no-one fitting their description has been here. McNeil is wary, quietly bringing the ship to alert status, just in case. The Ferengi's Olf and Mort once again beging arguing about wanting to take posession of the Ykiim. As they are about to dock both the Ykiim and the Casey, a Jem'Hadar battlecruiser enters the area. It is under the command of General Keratt(npc) of the Maldorans. The Maldorans are much like a fledgling Federation in the Gamma Quadrant, trying to bring order and peace to a region that has lost it since the withdrawal of the Dominion. Keratt and the Casey had met earlier, nearly coming to blows, but this time Keratt warns McNeil of Tornanility and it's devious plans to do harm to the Casey and her crew. Tornanility is under the influence of the pirates who are more organised then at first thought. Before reinforcement arrives, the Casey releases the Ykiim and follows Keratt's ship away from the area.

They are taken to Maldoria a massive conglomeration of vessels, mostly of Jem'Hadar design. The Casey docks into the city-ship and are taken to the president who informs them of the problems in the sector of space with the Wallsa, formerly referred to as the pirates. They are an extremely well organised group whose reach extends farther than at first thought. The president explains the Wallsa had help...from the Ferengi! He outlines a plan for the Maldorians to put a stop to the workings of the Wallsa, but feels it can't be completed without the help of the Casey and the Federation. McNeil ponders her decision after hearing the thoughts of her staff.

The runabout USS Reynolds, having rescued Ryback and captured one of the pirates, make their way back to Tornanility. Ryback is in very bad shape...near death. Ensign Clarkson, medical officer, does his best to keep him alive. As they are making their way to Tornanility, a Maldorian cruiser intercepts them and takes them to Maldoria where the USS Casey is waiting.

After much deliberation, and with the crew now reunited, Captain McNeil's decision as to whether help can be given to the Maldorians is forstalled when a priority message from the Alpha quadrant is received. There is instability in the Bajoran wormhole and all Federation vessels are ordered to return at once. With the Casey still a little over two months away, McNeil decides to push the ship to it's limits...having the Casey travel at it's maximum speed - a journey that would take 11 days - but at great risk to the ship and crew. President Gomarr (npc) asks to accompany the Casey on its journey and McNeil agrees.

During the journey, a very on edge crew try to relax as the thought of being home sooner rather than later has lifted spirits quite a bit. Sergeant Ryback has recovered as has Crewman Rosh, who had been injured and in a coma from a previous incident. A birthday party is thrown for Ensign Clarkson and the mood on the Casey finally appears to be on the up and up as, after a very difficult journey, the Casey finally docks at DS9. Major repairs to propulsion systems are set to begin. Several crewmembers will depart and new ones are soon to join.

VESSEL: USS EDISON
DIVISION: III
COMMANDING OFFICER: COMMNDER TERO STELATELE
EXECUTIVE OFFICER: LIEUTENANT COMMANDER WILLIAM DRAB

Having been forced to retreat for the orbit of Trill by a number of Romulan Warbirds, the Edison made a daring run past the planet to snatch up the remaining away team from the surface. Before doing so, though, Commander Stelatele and his team were able to stop the Alliance from using Rimmer's schematics.

The second team on the USS Yarra followed a trail left by the Cloaked Alliance vessel and were led to a planet relatively close to Terak Nor. Beaming down to the planet to rescue Romulans who were stranded there from the "real" Universe, myself and Lt jg Verona discovered that the crew of the captured Romulan Scout traded the cloak for a life of luxury and power in the Mirror Universe. The crew then met up with the Edison and returned to Normal space.

The ship has recently taken on Cargo from DS9 and is returning to Earth for the wedding of Lt Verona

Currently very little progress has taken place on the work, mainly due to time restrictions placed on myself with the end of term at university. A new proposal has been proposed recently to merge the Advertisement and the Newsletter into one larger Bureau to ease the distribution of information. This proposal has been considered and approved and will be placed into motion shortly.

Work is progressing on the new pages, followed by a possible slight alteration to the system. I am currently working on this, after discussion with other members of the fleet. This is aimed at removing some extra baggage from the structure and hopefully making the system even easier to use. We shall have to see about this however, and the project may be dropped if the idea does not seem useful on completion. However University is pulling much needed time on the project away, so this may take some time to sort out.

The Medical Corps is always on the look for new procedures, equipment and drugs. Two new procedures that will be added are

1. Fetal Scan:

This is a modification of an ultrasound procedure that uses conventional particle and imaging scanners to create a real time and very accurate image of the fetus in utero. This can also be modified to assess fetal dimensions, cardiopulmonary integrity, and other factors. It can also, among other things be used to ascertain sex of the fetus.

2. Chorionic Cellular Scan.

This is a modification of the Chorionic Villus Sampling procedure started in the 20th Century. It analyzes shed cells in the chorion and allows a genetic sampling to be done. With 23rd/24th century technology, genomic analyses can be done quickly and within the 1st-2nd Trimester.
As you can see these are used during pregnancies. There hasn't been a whole lot at the medical corps about Pregnancy for SF so we're trying to add a few. More to come.

The Diplomatic/AJG Corps has steadily been progressing with the compilation of current JAG trials within TF in order to provide an extensive resource on former in-character legal events. This task whist arduous, has welcomed the addition of Ensign Hagen who will be integral in its completion. The Diplomatic/JAG Corps extends its best wishes to Lieutenant Kien Emyaj who has resigned from her position in order to become more activity within the advertising scope within TF. Due to a recent leave of absence by those within the Corps, matters that may be considered pressing by some, have been delayed, namely that of those who have applied for JAG School Training. The applications shall be addressed within the next forty-eight hours.

As announced with Fleet Operations the proposal and ensuing acceptance of the amalgamation of the Advertisement Bureau and the Press & Information Bureau shall be placed into motion. With such an extensive framework, all that currently exist in the two individual bureaus shall now be located within one resource, inclusive of the TF Newsletter. Whilst there are no pre-set plans to abolish any area, rather to continue with what is presently in place, the Bureau, is requesting suggestions from those who may be able to devise a method of delivering an additional service.

Additionally, with a greater amount of services to cater for, and limited command members, the Advertisement Bureau promotes Lieutenant Kien Emyaj to a secondary Assistant Director position, whereupon, her main focus shall continue with Awards for Tango Fleet amongst other such relevant duties.

The Bureau is ALAWAYS accepting applications for new personnel, therefore, should you wish to offer YOUR service in any way, please do not hesitate to contact the Director.

COMMAND & EXECUTIVE COUNCIL REPORT

The one vote taken in the Command Council this month was on a proposal to ammend the Constitution. The ammendment would create temporary small groups

as required to assist the Command Council in creating new ideas and projects for the Fleet. Although passed 9 votes to 4 with 2 abstentions, the vote was declared invalid due to insufficient votes after 8 members failed to cast theirs.

This month also saw the appointment of two new Division Advisors to the Executive Staff. Colonel Paul Taylor of Starbase 98 was appointed to Division 2, and Captain Thomas Coonradt of the USS Lancelot was appointed to Division 3. Congratulations to both the new DA's. In addition, Commander Michael Brandel was promoted to Commanding Officer of the USS Hyperion.

How long have you been in TF?

Graduation from TFA was July 2000 therefore it would be approximately 12 months.

You have had various aliases throughout your time in TF; care to enlighten us?

It is safer to list these: LOL (* denotes active)
Coulten Jaevans (C.J.) Datz - Chief Diplomatic/JAG Officer - USS Lancelot
Lauren Kaxa - Chief Medical Officer - USS Cambrian
*Maximillian Daevan - Intelligence Attache - USS Casey
*Sebastian DeVries - Executive Officer - SB98: Intelligence Team IV
*Damon Envrex - Special Services Instructor - Tango Fleet Academy
Megan Devereux - Director - Medical Corps
*Cian Benoit - Assistant Fleet Chief of Operations/Director - Advertisement Bureau/Director - Diplomatic/JAG Corps

Since joining Tango Fleet, what do you think has had a major impact on your career?

The people in TF have had the greatest impact in all spheres of my career that I have participated within through their friendly, compassionate, genuine, and enthusiastic natures. Albeit on an individual simulation or an area of out-of-character activity, the presence of such a welcoming atmosphere is undoubtedly prominent and one that has ensured TF is one of the most, if not the most, renowned and active simulated environments throughout the online community. There have been those individuals who have had a major impact for whom without their friendship and guidance I would not be capable of enjoying the TF experience to the maximum. From Matt Grant, Steve Marriott, Paul Taylor, Kreg Asay, Kyle Soderholm to Erika Hansen, Lyn Merical, Nick Gustavsson, James Maychurch, Gavin Pellegrino, "Asali", Brad Dehnert and Ben Hurwitz, to indeed Mark Hyacinth and Tom Coonradt; (just also to mention a good friend, Brian Minosh, from Bravo Fleet too) It seems unfair to single out any one particular individual from among, the above, as they have all contributed to my time in TF in some substantial way. However I am compelled to say a word of sincerest thanks to Tom Coonradt, who as my former instructor and Commanding Officer, he has earned himself an admirer and true friend. (Those listed above who want to hear what I think about them please send a stamped addressed envelope to … LOL) You're all awesome!

Most have heard you have recently resigned Tango Fleet Academy, was your career as an instructor rewarding?

TF Academy, the most structured training center for RPGs on the net with the most magnificent staff! Having been with TFA for counts on fingers eight months, it not an easy task having to hand your commbadge in. Kreg's expression does not make it any easier (so Kreg stop doing it) LOL Just as I began TFA, at Lieutenant (j.g.) rank, Kreg informed me that TFA was the most rewarding part for him in TF. Being capable of seeing the future of TF pass through whilst having the utmost opportunity to be enlightened by cadets. I was always one to judge on my on experiences, and not others, however I must say, Kreg was correct. Like no other simulation one could ever experience, TFA is magic. There is so much going on at once, it is not funny, from varying departmental missions, to recurring tribble-o-matics. I would encourage those who believe that they may be capable to offer their time and experience (six months at least) to give TFA a go; you will find it a worthwhile experience. For one in an instructor position it is always pleasing to see "your" cadets doing well throughout the Fleet.

What goals (short term and long term) have you set for yourself and your characters in Tango Fleet?

Short term - to finish this post for SB98, so please stop disturbing me Plisko! Seriously, my current TF short-term goal is to ensure that the current 4-way joint mission, TF Invasion, is successful. It undoubtedly will be considering those involved! Personal short-term goal (my girlfriend would say "learn how to cook") and so I can stop eating the food she makes, I would agree. LOL TF long-term goal would include trying to find additional time to return to both TFA and the USS Lancelot. Personal, long-term goal, this for some will be quite obvious. The upcoming birth of my first child would most definitely be considered my long-term goal. Those wishing to offer baby name suggestions, please send them to me; genuine names only Erika! (btw it's a boy)

What was your first assignment in Tango Fleet?

After the Academy, although with first preference as the USS Concordia (now decommissioned), after persuasion from my instructor, I joined the USS Lancelot, with my character Coulten Jaevans (C.J.) Datz as Chief Diplomatic Officer under the command of Commodore Fyed Slanne. Best decision I have made to date during my time in the Fleet!

If you had one thing to change about Tango Fleet, what would it be and why?

Oooo … change … bust Steve Marriott to Cadet LOL. As one who has the privilege of being a member of the Command Council, in my humble opinion, I should like to see the respective TF command authorities be somewhat more transparent, thus allowing fleet members to view on a regular basis and in an increasingly detailed manner the activities within the Council. In addition, I should like to see TF members in their entirety become more active through offering input and such to enhance the game. TF is as strong as the individuals, and thus everyone is guaranteed a voice.

As most don't realize, you are one of the very important officials in the TF Invasion plot. Any comments for the readers?

I have a question; how many more questions do I have to answer! LOL TF Invasion is the largest in-character initiative ever undertaken in TF's five-year existence, thus, with such a substantial mission concoction; its success relies on all those involved. The idea to undertake such was conceived approximately four months ago with the various command officers from the USS Casey, USS Edison USS Lancelot and SB98, all offering input. Through careful deliberation and precise planning, the mission was agreed and plans commenced for implementation. It's pleasing to report that TF Invasion has commenced on three of the four simulations involved and reports indicate success abound. Noteworthy is that the mission does not comprise of all four vessels subscribed to one list, however each vessel undertakes one segment of the mission plot making up the whole. Each ship is kept abreast of the others performance through communication from the respective command teams and through the web site designed specifically for the mission (http://www.geocities.com/uss_lancelot)

A question that many would be interested in; how did you achieve so much in twelve months?

Eek … From the beginning I have always wanted to be involved, it just happened faster and on a much larger scale than I anticipated. I was gifted various opportunities, and as I have listed above, I have had the support of many mentors and many friends.
